This is a spectacular location for a spring, summer and fall vacation, overlooking meadows, the James Pond great pond, the barrier beach and Vineyard Sound, with a path leading to a semi private, sugary sandy beach abutting the Lambert's Cove Beach -- so there is plenty of beach and an excellent swimming shore, especially for children.
The residence, known as the Tower House, is a modern 70s style summer beach cottage, designed and furnished simply but comfortably. The house was renovated early 2011 with all new exterior shingles and trim, new deck, new refrigerator and stove, and the full interior painted a warm white, the color of sand.
The first floor has a master bedroom with a king-size bed, a full bathroom with tub/shower combination, a powder room, an open living and dining room with very high ceilings and lots of large picture windows from which to enjoy the water views and awesome sunsets. The fully equipped kitchen offers more than you need -- stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, washer and dryer, coffee maker, toaster, lots of dining and cooking ware.
Up to the second level of the Tower portion of the house to a second bedroom with 2 single beds, and a vanity with sink, and water views too. Up to the third level, via a wooden ship's ladder to the third bedroom with 2 single beds and more water views.
The front deck has plenty of outdoor furniture for dining and lounging and taking in the breathtaking views of this wonderful location. State and Town booking taxes of 11.7% apply on top of rent; cleaning fee plus security deposit.
There is an outdoor shower with hot and cold water, but it is not enclosed. |
